Tree Splitting

Last Saturday the tree that is between the garage and the house at Margaret and Jack’s started splitting and coming down on the roof of the house.   I went down and helped Jack tie a tie down strap around the tree, hoping that would keep it from splitting more.  It did seem to help but the branch hanging over the walkway between the garage and the house was still breaking down.

Margaret went to Home Depot to get another strap and Jackie came down with his saw and he got up on the roof and cut down the branches he could reach.  Jack and Jackie put another tie down strap further up the tree and so far it is holding and not splitting anymore or breaking off.  There are two branches holding it off the roof of the walkway.

Darren is due back this evening and hopefully will come out soon and cut down the tree before it done any major damage to the roofs.  We got some rain this afternoon and I was concerned that it would make the branches heavier but there wasn’t a change in the position so maybe it will be okay.
