Fishing and Swans

Margaret and I went down the Salado and tried out the fishing yesterday afternoon.  We wet our lines and wasted some night crawlers and I saw a few fish but we didn't get a bite.  We thought that we had left the dogs at the house when they went with Henretta on her walk but Blue and Mike later found us and joined our party.  Blue got in the water and then forgot how to get out.  The banks are real steep along the Salado right there.  Margaret finally had to show him the way to get out.

One of the Swans from yesterday came by to see what we were doing.  At first Margaret didn't think it was a Swan but later she changed her mind and she thinks it might be a species of a Swan.  I think I will do some research on them later today if I have time.  I didn't have my camera with me so this picture is from my cell phone and is not very good.

Margaret and I were going fishing again this morning but it is just too cool and windy right now so we will wait until later in the day when it warms up a bit.

Mike and the Swans

Mike and I went for an afternoon walk today.  We went down to the picnic area and then followed the Salado Creek where Jackie did such a good job of clearing.  As we got to the river, we scared up a flock of ducks.  There must have been 30 of them that took off.  They were gone before I could get my camera ready.  So we walked on down the Salado.  Mike went further than I and he really wanted to get in the water but the banks are just too steep right there.

So he just sat there and looked.  Right after I took this picture, I looked a the creek and there were these three Swans swimming by me.  I am guessing they are Swans but they aren't real big, maybe they aren't full grown yet.  If anyone knows any better, let me know and I will make a corrections.  I know they were pretty and Mike hasn't seen them yet. He is not much of a bird dog.
