Weird stuff

P1030116 I went out in the yard this afternoon and found this that one of dogs has dragged up from someplace.  I am guessing that it is the bottom jaw of a wild pig but then again it could be the upper jaw too.  I have no ideal what kind of animal is was but I am glad that I did not have to face it when it was alive.

Wasp-Spider Several days ago Margaret send me this picture.  Jack and her were out on the back terrace and saw this wasp pulling this dead spider around.  They were not sure where it was taking it but it flew off every time they got too close and then would come back when they walked away.

Bumblebees

I do believe that most of the Hummingbirds have gone south for the winter.  I have only seen one the past two days.  Of course I will keep my feeders up and filled with fresh water for a few more days for the stragglers but it is sure not like the days when I have to fill up feeders twice a day.  Yesterday I noticed that Bumblebees had taken over one of the feeders.

P1020983 I guess they might have been after the pollen left on the feeders from the beaks of the Hummingbirds.  I guess they got most of it since there was only one on there this morning.  I hope they don't decide to build a hive out there.

A group of us gathered at Pebble Beach to witness Logan being baptized in the river. October 8th, 2008 will be a very special day in Logan's life and we are thankful that we were able to be a part of it.
