Wild life
Yesterday, March 11, 2009 I saw the first Hummingbird of the year. I had a feeder out since January since I read that sometimes they stay during the winter this far south. I wasn’t able to get a picture of this Hummingbird but I am sure he was a scout and will be back with more of them.
I did manage to get a picture of a Squirrel and some Carolina Wrens sharing the bird seed that I toss from the inside birds.
And a pictures of a Cardinal sitting in the tree near by waiting his turn or maybe he was already full and was just waiting for some fresh seed.

Golden Breasted Hawk
I have been seeing this Hawk fly around the house for the past couple of weeks but I have never been quick enough with my camera to get a picture. He doesn’t stay in one spot very long but I got him today.
I looked on Google to see if I could find the name of this Hawk but couldn’t find anything so I am taking it for granted that he is a new species and I get to name him. Until I find out other wise, this Hawk is called “ Golden Breasted Big Hawk that hangs around Bill’s house”, I will call him Goldie for short. He is really a beautiful bird especially when he is in flight.
