Turkey Hen and Chicks

This afternoon I looked out my kitchen window and say a wild Turkey.  This is not really unusual but this time the Hen had about 5 chicks with her.

Here you can see the Hen but not the Chicks.

When I went outside, the Hen went to cover.  You can barely make her out in the center of the photo.

Later on in the afternoon I was writing an email and I looked out the front window and saw:

As I got closer to the window, I saw that it must me the same Hen with her Chicks.

 

In this photo you can see the Hen and four of her Chicks in the foreground following her.  The Chicks are hard to see on the ground since they are only a few inches high.  Cute little Chicks.

BTW, we had some rain this morning as a band of storms moved through San Antonio.  There was no damage around here and we really needed the rain.  The little birdy in the nest on the ceiling fan got a wild ride but he is still there.  There is only one left in the nest and the Mother is still feeding him.  It makes me wonder if the others left too soon.  Oh well, Mother Nature does her own thing.
