It’s been a long time

It has been a long time since I have posted anything and Margaret tells me that some of the children check on the blog frequently and I know that my good friend in Germany also checks so I will try and do better.

There hasn’t been a lot going on around here except the dry weather.  We really need some rain.  Jack and I had to repair the main water line going to my house last week because the ground shifted and caused the pipe to leak.  Not the way we wanted to spend our Saturday.

It is spring time here and of course, even the dry weather doesn’t stop the birds from building nests and making little birds.  These birds decided to build their next on one of my ceiling fans on my patio.

After a couple of days the chicks hatched.

Now I am just hoping that the chicks will fly off before we get a bad storm and strong winds causing the fan to start spinning.  Next year, I will try and catch this before it is too late and make the birds build their nest someplace safer.

The good news is that the Hummingbirds have come back in greater numbers that last year and I am really enjoying them and their antics.

Other than that, we are starting to have some hot days and what we in Texas call the “Dog Days of Summer”, which Mosquito illustrates quite well.
