Feeding the fish and turtles

I went out this morning to do some fishing.  I decided to try out Salado Creek.  I think I should have stayed home.  I picked a nice spot opposite of a large Cottonwood tree.

On my first cast, the line hung up and the hook landed in some branches on the bank of the Creek.  It was stuck real good and the line broke and I lost my hook, line and sinker including the bobber.  I walked back to the truck and got the line put back together.  Finally got a  line in the water.

But the fish weren’t biting at this spot so I move farther up the creek.

This looked like a good spot with the tree in the water and I have had some luck in the past here.  It is a nice spot to not only fish but to just relax.

After a bit, this turtle came up to see what I was doing.

The turtle must have gone back in the water and told the fish that I was feeding them because I started getting some nibbles.  I lost a few worms and then caught this big one.

I’ve got bigger fish in my aquarium.  I decide to quit for the day and on the way back to the truck, I spotted this good size Carp trying to get up the San Antonio River.

The River and the Creek are really low right now and there is only a small channel where the River flows past.
