Bird Nests
At the last High School reunion planning meeting, one of my classmates asked me if the birds were building a nest on my patio ceiling fans like they have done for the past few years. The answer is no, they haven’t even tried to build a nest there this year and I don’t know why. I have seen a few birds land on the blades of the fans but none have tried to build a nest.
They have decided to build a nest in my garage. I keep my garage door closed most of the time so I am not sure how they found the time to get in there and build a nest except it doesn’t take them long to build one.
There are three eggs in this one. I have been leaving my garage door open all the time so the birds can get in and do whatever it is birds do. Margaret was down last night for the Spurs games and I took her out to show her the nest. She got up close to look inside and the bird flew out and almost hit her. I will leave them alone.
The next place they decided to build a nest was on the patio but just not the ceiling fan.
This is the cup on one of my grills that catches the ashes from the charcoal. It makes it easier to clean the grill but right now it is filled with a bird nest.
If you look close, you can see some pink in this photo. There are three baby chicks in the nest. I will leave them alone until they fly away and then I can use my grill once again. It is a good thing that I have a gas grill and also a smoker if I want to use charcoal. I am not going hungry.
